Background

JJGK is a state-of-the-art maintenance centre specialising in heavy helicopters, located in the south of France near Marseille-Provence airport. Founded only six years ago by four aviation experts, JJGK quickly built a solid reputation by providing maintenance for renowned aircraft, such as those of Airbus Helicopters, Rotor Trade and Babcock Helicopter Ireland. To date, they have handled the maintenance of 48 heavy helicopters.

With a team of around 50 employees, JJGK is dedicated to both airworthiness management and aircraft maintenance.

Their mission: "Your Helicopter. Our Job."

The problem

Over time, JJGK had to face major challenges with its maintenance management software tools. The software they were using had many limitations: frequent bugs, poor ergonomics and complexity in document management. These obstacles slowed down team productivity and complicated the traceability of operations.

JJGK wanted to adopt a solution that could:

  • Adapt to the specific needs of its CAMO and MRO activities,
  • Centralise and simplify maintenance processes,
  • Improve efficiency and the traceability of operations,
  • Meet the specific requirements of prestigious customers such as Airbus Helicopters.

The solution: Tracing Flight

In 2023, at the Paris Air Show, JJGK met the Tracing Flight team. This meeting allowed JJGK to discuss its specific needs, and Tracing Flight quickly proposed a suitable solution.

JJGK chose Tracing Flight for its flexibility, reliability and the intuitive ergonomics of its software suite. The interconnected features and airworthiness tracking tools quickly demonstrated their value in meeting JJGK's objectives.

The solutions implemented include:

  • TracingDocs: a complete solution for the digitalisation and OCR processing of documents, making it easy to search for information in scanned files.
  • TracingNav, TracingLine, TracingAudit: tools to manage maintenance, stock tracking, planning and audit quality, integrating the specific requirements of customers such as Airbus Helicopters.

Results

  • Time savings in the traceability of maintenance tasks, allowing mechanics to generate complete technical reports quickly.
  • Optimised maintenance processes with simplified tools for mechanics and quality managers, who can track maintenance histories in a few clicks.
  • Increased responsiveness thanks to Tracing Flight's technical support, which offers temporary solutions within 24 hours and continuous developments to meet new needs.

Although JJGK still uses only 60% of the capabilities offered by Tracing Flight, the impact is already tangible, and the growth prospects are promising.

Conclusion

The partnership between JJGK and Tracing Flight is a success story in digital transformation in the aircraft maintenance sector. By adopting the Tracing Flight solutions, JJGK was able to optimise its maintenance operations while improving the user experience for its technical teams.

The advanced features and adaptability of the Tracing Flight solutions make it a key solution in aircraft maintenance management.
